How I have become interested in the paranormal.

I have always been intrigued in paranormal phenomena. I grew up in a house where strange things were known to happen that couldn't be explained (hearing boot footsteps on the hardwood floor in the middle of the night, the backdoor--until my grandparents started locking it--would open and shut every morning at 4am) I'm pretty sure every member of my family have their own stories of that house! We don't have anything recorded or on video of anything out of the ordinary but we do have our experiences and that is real enough for me to conclude that something is going on somewhere!

In my apartment I was rocking my daughter back to sleep one night and she was only old enough to wave if something waved at her first. Well, she lifted her head looked towards the door and waved! We were the only people in the apartment, so needless to say, she slept with me!

Whether you believe in ghosts or not I think there will always be something intriguing about the idea of them.

This picture was taken when aunt and uncle were putting in new floors in their house. They say that any kind of remodeling to your home can bring out some paranormal activity.

In this picture it appears to be orbs, my uncle thinks that it is just dust from them redoing the floors which is plausible but there are some strange instances that have occurred in the 14 years they have lived at this house. Also, out of the pictures that were taken during them redoing the floors, this is only one of three pictures that these orbs appear to be in.

Other strange things that have been known to happen:

My Aunt Sharley was cleaning out her daughter's room one day and the dog started barking in the backyard, my cousin Emily wanted to see what was outside (she was about 3 years old). My Aunt lifted her up to see out the window and Emily asked her "Mom, why is that boy standing by the swings?") My aunt said she couldn't see anything and Emily was very persistent as to the boy that was standing by the swing set. She asked Emily what he was wearing to which she replied very nonchalantly "a red shirt and pants"!

Emily has been known to also see a little girl in the bathtub, which interestingly my uncle is said to have seen a little girl one night at the end of their hallway before they had any kids.

There have been shared experiences as well.

My mother who was visiting them once woke up one morning and said that she woke up in the middle of the night to the bed shaking as if someone had jumped on the bed and jumped off.
My aunt was astonished because she had never mentioned this incident before and the fact that this had also happened to her on two different occasions in two different bedrooms.

Landry's Seafood, Corpus Christi, TX

My Uncle Robert used to work as a manager at Landry's Seafood in Corpus Christi. He would always be called in whenever strange things would be picked up on the security cameras.
He mentioned that there were many times when pictures hanging on the wall were shown as being thrown across the room.

He also mentioned how one night when he was there closing up by himself, he walked from the where the kitchen was toward the front of the restaurant and when he walked back towards the kitchen there was duct tape in a line on the floor.

My friend Brien and a group of his friends went one night to the old Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston back in 2000.

The building had been abandoned for many years and was built over a cemetery and is said to be haunted.

They walked around and took a bunch of polaroid pictures and came up with nothing out of the ordinary, until this one. This one has an extra "person" in it, there is someone that looks like they are going up a ladder. My first reaction to seeing the picture was that it was obviously some sort of layover from the picture before or after it, but then I remember, it was a polaroid, so that wouldn't be possible!

Recently I read that this building has been renovated to possibly become lofts, I would not want to live anywhere near it!

I don't think there is one way to capture a ghost, quite frankly it's best to catch them "off guard" as in this picture for instance, if there was one way to do it I think there would be a lot more "evidence" then where would the mystery be?

When hunting for ghosts I think it would be best to use a camera that you can be sure would not have any overlapping images from previous pictures therefore a polaroid would probably be best.

When taking pictures often images can become blurry and seem to produce a "ghostly" image such as these from the USS Lexington.
